Malaria is one of the life threatening disease caused by parasite plasmodium .There are 5 species of plasmodium - plas vivax , plas falciparum , plas ovale, plas malariae , plas knowlesi among which the deadliest are - p. Falciparum and p. Vivax which are mainly responsible for high mortality rate . The vector in case of malaria is - female anopheles mosquitoes. There are over 400 anopheles species out of which 30 are malarial vectors. CHildrens under age 5 acounts for 67% of the mortality in malaria
Symptoms of malaria generally are shown after 10–14 days of infected mosquito bite.
Acute malarial symptoms include-
- febrile illness( fever )
- Headache
- Chills
- Muscle pain(myalgia) and fatigue
- Sweating.
- At later stages , children encounter
